New-home sales decline for fourth consecutive month in Houston

New-home inventory continued to grow in Houston in September amid the fourth-straight month-over-month sales decrease, according to the latest data from HomesUSA.

Homebuyers purchased 2,046 new homes during the month, down from 2,125 in August but up from 1,943 in September 2024. Active inventory swelled to 15,315 new homes — up approximately 25% year over year.

Meanwhile, the average new-home price was flat month-to-month at just over $402,000.
